During split-screen display of an electronic device, the electronic device receives a first operation performed by a user in a display area that displays a first interface of a first application, and displays a second interface of the first application in the display area in response to the first operation, where the second interface is a previous-level interface of the first interface; or the electronic device receives a second operation performed by a user in a display area, and enables, in response to the second operation, a first application displayed in the display area to exit the split-screen display; or the electronic device receives a third operation performed by a user in a display area, and displays a multi-task interface in the display area in response to the third operation.
