In some aspects, an apparatus may transmit, to a base station, a request to transmit uplink control information (UCI), for a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) group that includes a primary cell (PCell) and for a second PUCCH group that includes a PUCCH secondary cell (SCell), via the PUCCH SCell. The apparatus may receive, from the base station, an indication of whether the request is rejected or approved. Numerous other aspects are described.
