The method generally includes receiving signaling of a spatial preemption indication (PI), identifying, based on the spatial PI, at least one beam that the UE is preempted from using for at least one of transmitting or receiving at least one target signal, and refraining from using the identified beam for transmitting or receiving the target signal, for at least a time period.
