The method includes obtaining a resolution of a video being played in response to detecting the electronic device being in a video playing state, determining whether a network state meets a playback condition corresponding to the resolution, and if the network state does not meet the playback condition, reducing the resolution of the video being played and performing a video enhancement on the video being played. The video enhancement comprises enhancing images of the video being played.
