An example method includes receiving a request for access from a user device associated with an employee and receiving employee data associated with the employee. The method further includes determining if the employee is subject to a required absence regulation and generating an access attempt notification in an instance in which the employee is subject to the required absence regulation. Determining if the employee is subject to the required absence regulation includes identifying an employee status associated with the employee data and determining that the employee is subject to the required absence regulation based on the employee status.
