In embodiments, a device may include a storage device, a wireless transceiver to send and receive data, and a control module coupled with the storage device and the wireless transceiver. In embodiments, the control module may establish a network connection, via the wireless transceiver, with a child node in response to an association request received from the child node. The control module may then store an identifier associated with the child node in the storage device to enable the network connection to be reestablished with the child node in the event that the network connection with the child node is lost.
