An additional information providing method includes recognizing, by processing circuitry, a plurality of persons in a frame of a video during playback of the video, determining, by the processing circuitry, a user likeability of the plurality of persons, recognizing, by the processing circuitry, an object associated with a specific person among the plurality of persons based on the user likeability, the object being in the frame, and generating, by the processing circuitry, a screen containing additional information corresponding to the object.
