The invention relates to compounds of formula (A):

Compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutical compositions thereof are αVβ6 integrin inhibitors that are useful for treating fibrosis such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP).
