The liquid permeable topsheet material includes a hydrophilically treated polypropylene spunbond nonwoven or spunbond/meltblown composite nonwoven, having a basis weight of from 8 to 20 g/m2. An acquisition layer material is provided sandwiched between said topsheet and said absorbent assembly, being an through air bonded nonwoven.
