The method includes receiving a UE context release message including a user plane ID (UPID) from control plane (CP) of a central unit (CU) of the network node, forwarding the UPID via a radio resource control (RRC) connection release message to a wireless device, receiving a RRC resume request message including user data with the UPID from the wireless device, transmitting the user data to CU based on the UPID.
