The controller is configured to control the image processor to perform a blending process for partially changing the brightness of projection videos. The controller is configured to perform control to set a mode of the projection type video display apparatus to a blending adjustment mode in which a user adjusts the blending process performed by the image processor. In the blending adjustment mode, the controller is configured to perform control to generate a menu image of the blending adjustment menu and display the menu image in the projection video. In the blending adjustment mode, the controller automatically changes a display position of the blending adjustment menu according to a position of a blending adjustment region that is a region to be adjusted by the blending process.
