When a user performs a touch manipulation on a touch panel installed in a rear display in order to set a focus area, an effective detection area for detecting a touch position is different between when the rear display is used and when the electronic viewfinder is used. When the rear display is used, the effective detection area is set to coincide with the entire display screen, and when the electronic viewfinder is used, the effective detection area is set to be reduced to an area of a part of the display screen of the rear display.
