The insulator has an outer surface having an RMS roughness of less than 1.0 micrometers. A cable shield provides electrical shielding for the first and second conductors and has a metallized conductive layer on the outer surface of the insulator. A method of manufacturing an electrical cable includes feeding a first conductor and a second conductor to a core extruder, extruding an insulator around the first and second conductors at the core extruder, heating an outer surface of the insulator to lower a roughness profile of the outer surface, and directly apply a conductive layer to the outer surface of the insulator.
