According to the disclosure, the road construction machine comprises a first and/or a second air barrier device adapted to shield a driver and/or an operator of the road construction machine. Furthermore, the disclosure refers to a corresponding method for generating an air flow during operation of a road construction machine in order to shield a driver and/or an operator from vapors and/or aerosols rising during operation of the road construction machine.
