A separator is disposed between the first and second electrode plate faces and an electrolyte solution immersing the negative electrode plate, the positive electrode plate the separator. At least one of the lead-antimony electrode grids, the separator or the electrolyte solution contains TiO2, an amount sufficient to suppress the migration of antimony from the positive electrode plate to the negative electrode plate.
