Abstract:
Methods and systems are disclosed for a more flexible use of bandwidth parts (BWP) and cells for the various transmissions within the BFR procedure, such as the UL beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) and the DL beam failure recovery response (BFRR). The proposed framework allows these transmission to occur in BWPs with different Id, as well as on different cells. Example benefits include support for BFR on DL-only SCells by allowing the BFR UL transmissions on another cell with UL, support for sequential/parallel multi-cell BFRQ for improved BFR reliability and latency performance, and support for less UE-initiated BWP switching for BFR.
