The control device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: an external device interface configured to transmit and receive signals to and from a display device; a user input interface configured to receive a user input; an audio output unit including a speaker; and a controller configured to: when a first voice input is received through the user input interface in a standby mode, check a first command corresponding to the first voice input; transmit a signal for activating a function of the display device to the display device through the external device interface when the first command is a command related to image output; and output a response to the first command through the audio output unit when the first command is not the command related to image output.
