The object measurement method comprises determining point cloud data of a scene based on a depth image of the scene; performing a plane segmentation process for the point cloud data, and determining surface information of an object in the scene; determining 3D vertex coordinates of the object in combination with the surface information of the object; and obtaining a measurement parameter of the object based on the 3D vertex coordinates of the object. In addition, a virtual object associated with the measurement parameters may also be generated, and the virtual object is displayed on an electronic device for viewing by a user. The method may improve the accuracy of object measurement.
