Abstract:
Systems and methods for adaptively re-adjusting meter rates of processor cores of a multi-core processor having ports grouped in a Link Aggregation Group (LAG) are provided. A method, according to one implementation, includes a step of obtaining a metering allocation setting for a service on each of a plurality of processor cores. The plurality of processor cores is configured to receive data traffic via a plurality of data ports. The data ports are configured to be grouped so as to serve as a single logical port from the perspective of an external component. The method further includes a step of determining an anticipated metering need associated with the service on each of the processor cores. Also, the method performs an adaptive metering procedure that includes automatically adjusting the metering allocation setting for the service based on the respective anticipated metering need.
