The backlight control chip for driving a backlight module, includes: a boosting circuit, configured to receive a variable-frequency clock signal and boost the variable-frequency clock signal into a synchronous signal, wherein both the variable-frequency clock signal and the synchronous signal have the same refresh rate as variable-frequency display; and a gating circuit, configured to at least receive the synchronous signal and frame rate control signals, and control output of the synchronous signal in response to the frame rate control signals.
