The method includes: a hole making process for making a plurality of holes to be the nozzle holes in a base material for the nozzle plate; and a repair process for repairing a defective hole, out of the plurality of holes, in which a hole diameter of a portion to be a downstream opening along a direction of ink flow is smaller than a desired hole diameter. In the repair process, the defective hole is processed to have a hole with a repaired hole diameter of the portion to be the downstream opening smaller than the desired hole diameter and larger than the hole diameter of the defective hole.
