A multi-member base plate assembly for mounting a hinge arm of a furniture hinge to a furniture side wall includes a mounting plate and a carrier plate. The hinge arm is fastenable to the carrier plate. The carrier plate is slidably mounted at the mounting plate and is adjustable in the direction of the height of the piece of furniture. The carrier plate has wing portions which in the mounted position of the base plate are mounted between the mounting plate and the furniture side wall. The mounting plate is formed of two separate leg portions connected to each other.
