A phase demodulator receives the channel estimate from the channel estimator and selectively rotates the phase of the received symbol. A decoder comprises a branch metric calculator that computes a plurality of branch metrics based on the channel estimate and selectively phase rotated received symbol. A most-likely symbol estimator estimates a clean symbol based on the plurality of branch metrics.
