The individual display tiles may be removable from the backframe for replacement or other reasons. As a result, the spacing between individual tiles in an overall large format display may be precisely controlled in some cases. In addition, regularly occurring gaps between adjacent tiles may be filled with a suitable light absorbing material to reduce the visibility of seams.
