Based on a video input signal, a control signal is sent out to a source driver and another control signal is sent out to a gate driver and a gray level of a black screen to be inserted among display screens each making up a moving picture is set to a liquid crystal panel based on the black inserting signal generated by the black inserting signal computing section.
