The presently claimed invention relates generally to processing audio and video content. One claim recites an apparatus including: one or more electronic processors. The processors are programmed for: (i) processing data representing audio content or video content to extract identifying information therefrom, the data obtained via a network access point, the processing processes data representing audible portions of the audio content or processes data representing picture elements of the video content; (ii) upon obtaining the identifying information from the data, determining whether to allow the audio content or video content to be communicated through the network access point; and (iii) controlling provision of a notice including at least some details associated with said determining.
