The image formation apparatus includes an image formation unit for forming plural sets of marks for position error compensation for compensating for a position error of the different colors, which position error is generated when forming the color image on the conveyance belt, a detection unit for detecting position information about positions of the sets of marks for position error compensation formed on the conveyance belt by the image formation unit, a control unit for performing a position error compensation process based on the position information detected by the detection unit, and a storage process of storing the position information of the sets of the marks for the position error compensation detected by the detection process.
