The guide co-operating with the rollers to select the mailpieces one-by-one and to transport them downstream. The guide presenting a predetermined inclination at an angle θ relative to a horizontal plane defined by the deck, with a distance between the deck and a low end portion of the guide that is larger at the portion of the guide that is closer to a referencing wall than at the portion of the guide that is further away from the referencing wall.
