The image forming unit superimposes toner images of a plurality of colors, one over the other, on a recording medium to form a composite color toner image thereon. The correction unit corrects an image condition of the toner images of the plurality of colors when the composite color toner image is formed on a transparent portion of the recording medium so as to be visible from a side opposite a side on which the composite color toner image is formed.
