The display device allows at least one I/O access point to be displayed in a model configuration field and/or at least one hardware functionality to be displayed in a function configuration field and/or at least one hardware interface to be displayed in an interface configuration field. It is possible to associate at least one I/O access point and at least one hardware functionality with one another and/or to associate at least one hardware functionality and at least one hardware interface with one another.
