A sealing ring having a radially extending annular stem provided with first and second axial seal support portions, and a radial annular portion interconnecting said first and second seal support surfaces being axially separated. Said radially extending annular stem has a first axial seal support portion adapted at atmospheric pressure to abut said male axial portion and a second axial seal support portion adapted during use to abut said female axial portion.
