According to the method, the charges of a printing medium are removed prior to printing, and an ink mist collecting unit having an electrode of a positive polarity is employed. Floating ink mist is collected such that ink mist generated from discharged ink droplets and negatively charged is moved toward the ink mist collecting unit by the electrostatic force.
