Specifically, there is a thermosensitive recording material including: a support, and a thermosensitive recording layer containing a leuco dye and a color developer on the support, wherein the support is a synthetic paper having a multilayer structure, and an inorganic pigment is contained only in a base layer of the synthetic paper; also, two layers which are formed solely of polypropylene and which contain no inorganic pigment are laid one on top of the other on the base layer containing an inorganic pigment; further, all layers are biaxially stretched.
