Methods and apparatus to restore central and peripheral disorders/dysfunction caused by edema, ischemia, and nitric oxide (NO) deficiency and to improve or facilitate muscle performance (e.g. endurance and recovery) by utilizing a device which stimulates cell initiated NO activation, promotes interstitial protein clearance, and induces angiogenesis.
