To provide an oil base having appropriate hardness and viscosity and excellent spreadability, a process for producing same, and a cosmetic material containing the oil baseThe oil base of the present invention is an oil base containing an ester condensate obtained by a reaction between polyglycerol, 12-hydroxystearic acid, and hydrogenated dimer acid, the oil base having a three-dimensional network structure in which hydrogenated dimer acid is condensed with a hydroxyl group of each of the polyglycerol and 12-hydroxystearic acid.
