The oil pan includes, but is not limited to a base part configured to form an oil sump and a suction channel that opens into the oil sump through an opening. The oil pan also includes, but is not limited to a nose in a region of the opening for at least partly covering a cross section of the suction channel in a horizontal direction of flow.
