In a computer 100 which issues to a printer 107 a print job for printing document data in which specified variable data is put into specified areas, template data into which the variable data can be merged is imported based on records; a segment is tentatively set for the template data, for each imported record; and the template data in which predetermined variable data is merged at predetermined areas is acquired on the basis of a record for which a segment is tentatively created.
