The first aircraft (1) includes means of transmitting its position, its velocity and its flight plan. The flight plan has predictions of altitude, velocity and time for at least one next waypoint (WPT). The second aircraft (2) includes means of receiving the information transmitted by the first aircraft (1). According to the invention, the second aircraft (2) determines its future flight plan as a function of the information received from the first aircraft (1) in order to maintain a constant separation (T) from the first aircraft (1).
