The automatic original cover closer is characterized in that the supporting member is rotatably supported via a rotation shaft on a mounting member attached to the main body, that the driving portion comprises a driving motor and a driving force transmitting mechanism for transmitting a rotation drive force of the driving motor to the rotation shaft, and that the rotation shaft is adjusted so that its rotation drive force can be transmitted to the supporting member via a shaft engaging members fixedly attached thereto.
