The air conditioner includes a first temperature sensor configured to measure an indoor temperature during a heating operation, a second temperature sensor configured to measure a discharge temperature of a compressor, a valve provided at an outlet side of an indoor heat exchanger during the heating operation, and a controller configured to control an opening of the valve by comparing a temperature detected by the first temperature sensor with a temperature detected by the second temperature sensor.
