In Formula (I), Ar1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group; and n represents an integer of 0 or 1. The invention further provides a thiazolothiazole polymer having the thiazolothiazole compound as a polymerization unit thereof.
