A cap is coated with a sealing composition comprising a rubber component, a tackifier, a filler and an organic peroxide as essential ingredients, the cap is seamed to a filled can and then the sealed can is subjected to a heat-treatment in which a sterilization and a cross-linking reaction take place simultaneously.
