The pixel region has a TFT element, a first electrode formed of a transparent electrode having a plurality of slits, a connection area that connects the first electrode to the TFT element, and a second electrode formed of a transparent electrode. The second electrode is disposed between the first electrode and the one of the pair of transparent substrates, the second electrode is connected with the second electrode of an adjacent pixel region, and the connected second electrode is arranged at a position overlapping with the gate signal line.
