The digital broadcast receiving apparatus includes a demultiplexer for separating a multichannel transport stream into a plurality of broadcasting channel data and outputting the broadcasting channel data, a buffer unit, including a plurality of buffers having different capacities that correspond to data bit rates, for storing the broadcasting channel data in the buffers having the corresponding capacities, respectively, according to the data bit rates, a user interface for outputting channel identification information corresponding to the broadcasting channel selected by a user, and a switching device for selecting one of outputs of the plurality of buffers according to the channel identification information.
