In an embodiment of the invention, a method for visualization of implicit relationships in a trace query for MDD can be provided. The method can include issuing a model query in an MDD tool, retrieving an implicit relationship in response to the model query, generating a trace link for the implicit relationship and displaying the trace link in a trace query diagram for the MDD tool.
