Embodiments of the invention provide techniques for splitting individual lots into multiple “shares,” where multiple individuals have an incentive to promote and drive up the price of the lot. Provided the bids reach an acceptable amount, the final selling price is split among each individual in proportion to the number of shares held by each individual.
