In an embodiment of the invention, a content customization method can be provided. The method can include selecting content in a retrieved page, retrieving an applied customization from a source separate from a source of the retrieved page, applying the applied customization to the selected content to modify a visual appearance of the selected content, and providing the selected content once modified for display in a content browser.
