During presentation of the media object, a reduced data rate at which data is communicated to the mobile device is observed. The reduced data rate interrupting the presentation of the media object. An indication to pause delivery of the media object to the mobile device is provided. A preferred data rate at which data is communicated to the mobile device is observed and, thereafter, an indication to resume delivery of the media object to the mobile device is communicated.
