The selected radio channel is to be utilized for receiving control information from a base station (110). The method comprises determining (302) a physical entity of a signal received from the base station (110) over a candidate radio channel, out of the plurality of candidate radio channels. If the determined physical entity fulfills a criterion, the associated candidate radio channel is prioritized (303) for a check sum check. The check sum check is performed (304) on data received over the prioritized candidate radio channel. If the check sum check is successful, the prioritized candidate radio channel is selected (305).
