There is provided is an ink for inkjet recording, including: a pigment coated with a water-insoluble resin including a structural unit represented by the following formula (1) and a structural unit having an ionic group; a nitrogen-containing organic solvent; resin particles; and water, wherein a mass ratio [nitrogen-containing organic solvent/resin particles] is from 2.0 to 6.0: wherein, in formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, or a halogen atom; L1 represents *—COO—, —OCO—, *—CONR2—, *—O—, or a substituted or unsubstituted phenylene group, wherein “*—” represents a bond linking to the main chain; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and L2 represents a single bond or a divalent linking group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, and an image forming method.
